A design exercise to explore the 14 principles of art and design: color, contrast, harmony, line, mass, proportion, repetition, rhythm, shape, space, texture, value, volume, and weight. This exercise was undertaken through reimagining the book cover design of the acclaimed epic by Haruki Murakami, 1Q84. The original cover is shown alongside my design concepts.
1Q84 is a novel by Haruki Murakami that follows two protagonists, Aomame and Tengo, as they navigate a surreal alternate reality Tokyo in 1984. They uncover a dangerous cult, encounter mysterious entities known as "Little People," and ultimately find each other in a surreal and mind-bending conclusion.
